Thank you!
First and foremost I want to offer a big and heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to my journey so far. Whether independently or through my Indiegogo campaign, the truth is I couldn’t have done it without you. You are a wonderful validation that it is possible to leap into the unknown and be supported. You have my greatest appreciation!
A bit about my journey.
This is a very exciting time for me. After losing everything eight years ago to Hurricane Katrina and then again to a moldy storage unit, leaving New Orleans with nothing more than a suitcase and beginning to travel was a big step for me! This is a time to explore what’s next in my life, to learn and to grow.
Beginning this journey took a leap of faith at a time when everything in my life was changing. It felt like a giant leap… of joy, courage and a willingness to grow and change. My “big school of life” continues to be a transformational exploration – living with and meeting people who challenge and expand me, visiting countries with different cultures and language from my own, often surrounded by nature and beauty, and learning to be present to myself and my life.
This has been and continues to be a time of healing for me. Letting go of the past. Working through personal challenges. Practicing being in the present moment… and having fun! I am taking time to get grounded, learn more about myself and my spirit and what nourishes me.
After time in Europe and teaching in South Korea, I have most recently landed in Vienna, Austria. I am very grateful! I am living with a family in a beautiful area near the Inner City. I am here to assist them with their family needs including meal preparation and childcare.
As I continue my travels, I persist in the development and exploration of satisfying and flexible ways to earn a living that give me access to the world (including the services offered through this blog). I also rely on the benefits of resources like Helpx.net that support affordable travel as well as other creative ideas, suggestions and opportunities.
Mostly I am learning to go with the flow and be present to what is happening in the current moment. I rely on the practice of patience and letting go of the school of hard knocks that was behind me. Additionally, I am open to the good things available to me now and the future. This is a time of learning at a whole new level, learning to trust and allowing what is next to unfold.
